A little list

30.September 2013

(I would submit it to McSweeney’s, but instant gratification is so much better.)

Things in my new (old) house that aren’t actually attached to anything:

  • One coaxial cable that runs from room to room
  • Two telephone lines (different eras)
  • One wall socket (connected to electricity, but not to the wall)
  • The vinyl floor in the basement
  • The handle of the faucet in the main bathroom
  • Two light fixtures
  • One ceiling fan (connected to the ceiling, apparently not to power)
  • About half of the slats on the fence
  • Apparently half of my silver maple tree
  • Most of the woodwork in the basement

Luckily I’m quite attached to the house.
